As you know, I was unemployed for 3 months... first time since I was 13! .... anyway... it took a toll on us... and I just started this new job and wont receive a paychec****il January 2nd... so Christmas was gonna be .... well, pretty much non existant as far as gifts go... my wonderful in laws bought a nice present for my step daughter and said that they would say it was from us... boom... floored... and thought it could not get any better really... The one thing I was worried about, getting the kid a present, was resolved!
.... then my wife says that my church was taking up a collection for a needy family... we gave $20 ... not much, but considering all of this it was pretty much the best we could do...

Friday our preacher goes to my wifes work and hands her an envelope... $500 in it, and says have a wonderful Christmas.............

I don't even know what to say.... floored.... totally floored....

A true Christmas Blessing!!
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy!
Had a "lean" Christmas one year right after my divorce and had to get food from salvation army but someone donated some nice gifts for my son who was still too young to understand why things were different that year.
It was probably the BEST Christmas ever. We decorated one of my larger house plants instead of a tree but it was beautiful.

Merry Christmas Marc!

Marc, I am so glad for you and your family. See, God does take care of us when we need a bit of help. He never forsakes us and it is times like this that He reminds us gently that He is still here for us.

Things seem to be falling right into place for you and your family and I am so happy for you all.

Have a wonderful and blessed Christmas!

That's very cool! We have a collection every year for needy folks at work. I never considered myself one of those, although I'm always feeling in "need" ... one year a couple of years ago, my boss hands me an envelope from the employees' committee with a $100 Kohls gift card in it. This was at a time when I really needed some new clothes because I had "shrunk" out of my old clothes. And really needed some warmer clothes. It was fun shopping the after-Christmas sales and getting some good bargains.

Ain't it nice to be on the receiving end?

          AIN'T  LIFE  GRAND...

As the old say goes:  what goes around, comes around.

Give and it shall be given unto  you, measured, shaked down and flowing over....

I ditto Linda's comment...  this is what Christmas is all about.
